Dr Brian Jensen - Dr Jensen graduated in 1987 from Palmer College of Chiropractic after having experienced the life changing benefits of Chiropractic as a teenager. He practiced in his home state of Nebraska until 2006 at which point he took a position as the Associate Director of Education and Research of Foot Levelers Inc, in Roanoke VA. He spent the next 5 years guest lecturing in Chiropractic colleges and presenting continuing education seminars in the US and abroad. He has authored numerous articles published in professional chiropractic trade journals, contributed a chapter in the “100 Year Lifestyle Workout” book and has been a guest on radio and television programs.

Dr Jensen’s practice philosophy is centered on the fact that the body is a self healing, self regulating system that can express a high level of health when we remove or reduce the factors that limit that expression. Sickness and disease develop when the body fails to adapt appropriately to the stressors we experience every day. Identifying those limiting factors is key to helping the body regain a high level of health.

Dr Jensen utilizes several innovative techniques and technologies in his practice that focus on enhancing optimal function of the nervous system. Dr Jensen specializes in using Chiropractic adjusting instruments that allow him to safely and gently treat the spine and extremities in adults and children. Pain relief is definitely a priority, but even more important is assisting the body in restoring a healthy nervous system that can adapt to the environment and the stress that we are exposed to. The back and neck pain that is so prevalent in our society is often a result of our bodies inability to appropriately adapt to stress or trauma. It is necessary to interrupt those patterns and assist the body in developing new, functional patterns. Anyone that is interested in maintaining a high level of health for their entire life, I want to assist them and empower them to accomplish that.”

Dr Jensen is also the president of DMX of Virginia, Inc. DMX or Digital Motion X ray is a mobile diagnostic service that provides video x ray studies of the spine and specializes in detecting ligamentous injuries that are commonly suffered in automobile accidents. The information that this technology provides is especially beneficial to physicians, helping them provide the most appropriate care for injuries of that type.

Dr Jensen resides in Roanoke with his wife Vicki and daughter Emily.

Dr. Dan Asks some important questions of interest to Salem residents - Chiropractor Salem Dr. Dan Asks...

How do you know when you're healthy?
Ask most Salem residents this simple question and you're likely to hear, "When you feel good" or "When you're at your proper weight for your height" or "When you have lots of energy and vitality." Great answers. But our chiropractic patients know that true health is when your body is working as it was designed. True health is how you function, not how you feel.
What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Salem folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
